Right to Buy

Last year the government announced that tenants of housing associations will be able to buy their own homes. This scheme for Right to Buy is being piloted in fie large housing associations across the country. The National Housing Federation which represents housing associations has been in discussion with the Department for Communities and Local Government for several months to work through the practical issues and arrangements that the scheme requires. We understand that the scheme will not be made available widely until at least September 2016.
