World Cup 2026

Posted on the 11th June 2026

With the World Cup now upon us, we know many residents will be looking forward to watching the matches and supporting their teams.

Some matches are scheduled late at night or in the early hours of the morning, and we recognise this is an exciting time for many. At the same time, we’re mindful that not everyone follows football, and some residents may have young children, work commitments, or simply prefer a quieter environment, so we’re asking everyone to help strike a balance so that all residents can enjoy this period comfortably.

If you’re planning to watch or celebrate:

  • Please keep noise to a reasonable level, particularly late at night
  • Avoid shouting, loud music, or gatherings that could disturb neighbours
  • Be mindful when entering or leaving your home, particularly in shared spaces
  • Remember that sound can travel more than you might expect

If you experience disturbance:

  • Where possible, consider speaking to your neighbour directly – often people are unaware that they are causing disruption and will be happy to resolve it
  • We understand this is a short-term, high-profile event, and a degree of tolerance can help avoid unnecessary escalation

Whilst we recognise this is a national event that many people enjoy, it does not override residents’ responsibility to avoid causing nuisance. Tenancy conditions relating to noise and anti-social behaviour remain in place at all times. If disturbances are persistent or cannot be resolved informally, residents can contact us for support. Alternatively, local authority environmental health teams can provide advice and take action where noise amounts to a statutory nuisance.

A little consideration and understanding on both sides can go a long way.

Let’s help make this an enjoyable and respectful period for everyone.

We also recognise that large sporting events can sometimes increase pressures at home. If you are experiencing or worried about domestic abuse, support is available. You can contact us or seek confidential advice from specialist support services, including the National Domestic Abuse Helpline on 0808 2000 247.
