Keniston would like to thank our residents at the Darrick Wood sheltered scheme who took part in a national oral health survey of older people in England.

We were selected to take part by Public Health England (PHE) to take part in the survey.  Local teams employed by the NHS visited tenants in their homes and were asked to complete questionnaire and undergo a dental examination.

Although much is known about the oral health of older people living in residential and nursing care but little is known about those who live independently.  We were glad to be able to support the survey.   The survey results will inform dental care services and is incredibly valuable for local authorities and dental health professionals and will ultimately help to improve the oral health of older people who live independently.
