Housing Officer – Darrick Wood Estate, Orpington
Salary: £40,254 per annum
Hours: Full-time, 35 hours per week (Monday to Friday, 09:00–17:00)
Location: Hybrid – minimum 2 days/week in the office, remainder from home
Patch: 369 homes on the Darrick Wood Estate
Keniston Housing Association is seeking a committed and experienced Housing Officer to manage a vibrant patch of 369 homes on the Darrick Wood Estate in Orpington. This is a fantastic opportunity to lead estate services, support residents, and make a real impact in the community.
You’ll line manage four scheme-based staff: a Head Gardener, Grounds Maintenance Operative, Sheltered Scheme Manager, and Caretaker. You’ll also be responsible for delivering high-quality tenancy and estate management, resolving anti-social behaviour, and ensuring resident satisfaction.
Key Responsibilities:
- Deliver excellent tenancy and estate management across the patch.
- Lead and support your team to maintain high standards of service.
- Resolve anti-social behaviour effectively and sensitively.
- Engage residents through meetings, communications, and community events.
- Manage service charge expenditure and ensure value for money.
- Collaborate with internal teams and external agencies to support residents.
Essential Requirements:
- Recent experience as a Housing Officer in a social housing setting (minimum 2 years is desirable).
- Proven ability to resolve anti-social behaviour effectively.
- Strong knowledge of housing law, including the Housing Acts, and best practice.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
- Ability to lead and motivate a small team.
- A full UK driving licence and access to a vehicle during working hours.
