Update from the Chief Executive 05.11.20

Posted on the 5th November 2020

We all know that the Government has imposed a new national lockdown from Thursday 5th November. At Keniston we have looked carefully at what this means about our services for residents. While our office remains closed to visitors, our aim is to continue to deliver as normal a service as possible.

This means that:

  • If staff or contractors need to come to your home, they will follow ‘Covid-19 safe’ working practices as now, protecting the health and safety of both residents and the operatives.
  • We will continue to carry out all work needed to keep our homes and residents safe. We will continue carrying out gas and electrical safety visits, and will contact you when these are due.
  • Our repairs service continues as normal. You should continue to report repairs needed, as now.
  • We will continue to let empty properties to new tenants, as now.
  • If we have contacted you about planned works such as installing a new kitchen or bathroom, we aim to continue with this work, as long as you are comfortable with allowing access to your home. The Government has clarified that this work can continue.
  • Estate cleaning, caretaking and gardening will continue as now.
  • If you need to contact Keniston, please do so by phone or email as now.

For the time being, we have needed to suspend our Estate Walkabouts, and any planned resident meetings will be postponed or held ‘online’.

If you know of anyone who is vulnerable and in need of assistance or you are concerned about someone’s welfare, please contact us. We will be able to arrange for a colleague to phone to check on their wellbeing.

For more information, please refer to our website where there are info leaflets with helpful advice. We also share all updates on our social media pages.
