CEO Update 7th Jan 2021 – Maintaining Services

As 2021 starts we are, again, in a national lockdown. The virus is very active in our areas, and we all need to be vigilant to keep safe. Keniston staff are all continuing to work to provide as close to normal services as possible. This means that:

  • We are continuing to provide a full responsive repairs service. Please continue to report repairs in the normal way. Our contractors are continuing to operate, and are all following Covid-safe working methods. When you contact us, we will ask whether you or anyone in your household is unwell, has had a Covid test, or is self isolating. We will also ask whether there is anyone shielding or in a vulnerable medical category. In these cases we assess the urgency of the repair and the risk to both the resident and the property. We will minimise the time spent within a property while maintaining essential services.
  • Our site based staff are continuing to provide caretaking, cleaning and gardening services.
  • As always Keniston continues to treat residents’ safety as our top priority. We are continuing with health & safety compliance works such as Gas servicing and Electrical testing to protect residents and meet regulatory requirements.
  • We recognise that many residents have had their incomes affected. Rent payments are still due, but we can help with advice and support. If you are having any difficulty with making rent payments, speak to your Rent Income Officer as soon as possible.
  • Some planned repair works will be delayed. We will contact all those affected.
