New initiative to improve estates starts at Nethewode Court.

Survey results
An independent organisation called The Leadership Factor, has carried out a major survey of Keniston’s residents. The Leadership Factor specialises in assessing customer satisfaction across many different types of organisations. The survey results enable a satisfaction index to be worked out for Keniston, which can then be assessed against a wide range of other organisations. The survey also included three questions which the Tenant Services Authority expects us to ask residents. These are about general satisfaction with Keniston, satisfaction with the repairs service and satisfaction with opportunities to participate in landlord issues. The survey results demonstrate that Keniston’s performance is as good as the best 10% of London housing associations.  We are delighted with this result and the huge vote of confidence our residents place in us.

New homes
Keniston is working with other housing associations and consultants to look at ways of developing small areas of land on existing estates. This includes land at Broadwater Gardens (Darrick Wood estate, Farnborough, Kent) and at Silver Court (Islington). We will provide more information to local residents when we have it. For further information in the meanwhile please contact your Housing Officer or Nevil Osborne.

Community Involvement
We have had a successful community involvement project at Darrick Wood for several years. In 2009 we are focusing on providing a new community centre building at Darrick Wood.

Anti social behaviour
Keniston is often criticised for not taking action quickly enough on anti social behaviour. This is often because the courts require a high standard of proof before granting a landlord possession of a property where such problems exist. Keniston has been successful in evicting tenants who have
caused significant anti social behaviour. We are obviously very sorry when our residents have to put up with anti social behaviour, but we would like to spread the message that at Keniston we can and do deal with anti social behaviour.
