About our sheltered housing schemes
Sheltered housing is the name given to housing schemes for retired or older people where there is support available in an emergency. All Keniston’s flats are fully self contained. If a resident has an emergency they can use an alarm system in their flat to call for help. The call will either go through to a member of

The Scheme Manager at Tarling Close with a resident.

Keniston’s staff or to a call centre. Residents can then speak direct to someone to explain the problem and to ask for assistance. Some of our schemes have a day time scheme manager to offer support and organise activities.

Keniston’s sheltered flats are almost all self contained one bedroom or studio flats. Studio flats have a separate bathroom and kitchen and a combined living room/bedroom.

If you want to enquire about applying for sheltered housing please either phone 01689 889700 and ask for a member of staff in the housing management team or email enquiries@kenistonha.co.uk. Offers of accommodation are usually made to people who have some kind of need for housing or reason to move. Applicants for sheltered housing may be put on a waiting list.
