Darrick Wood sheltered housing
Darrick Wood
Farnborough
Kent

Access via Isabella Drive
There are 50 self contained sheltered flats: 25 one bedroom flats on the ground floor, each with their own small private garden area and 25 studio flats on the first floor with a private balcony.  The first floor is accessed by stairs.   Studio flats have a combined living room/bedroom and separate bathroom and kitchen.   The flats are let unfurnished with gas central heating; gas and electric cooker connections are available. A communal lounge is also available for residents to use. A guest room can be booked so that visiting relatives and friends can stay overnight.

The flats are situated about a quarter of a mile from Farnborough village, about three quarters of a mile from Locks Bottom and about two miles from Orpington shopping centre.  The flats are ideal for an older person who wants to remain independent.

The Scheme Manager for these flats, Gloria,  is normally on duty Monday to Friday during the day and has an office within the development.   Each flat has a warden call alarm system that can be used in an emergency to call for help.

The weekly charge includes rent, service charge and a support charge.  The support charge covers the costs of the scheme manager and the emergency alarm system.  If you are in receipt of income support or on a low income you may be entitled to help to pay the rent, service charge and/or support charge.

If you would like more information, would like to visit the scheme or would like to apply one of these flats please either phone 01689 889700 and ask for a member of staff in the housing management team or email enquiries@kenistonha.co.uk.  Offers of accommodation are usually made to people who have some kind of need for housing or reason to move.   If there are no suitable vacancies you may be put on a waiting list.
